Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026
This policy explains what information LandBenchmark collects when you use our web app, how we use it, and the choices you have. LandBenchmark provides satellite-derived land-risk reports for parcels you choose to analyse.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to run the service:
- Account email and password, handled through our authentication provider (Supabase). We never store your password in plain text.
- Email addresses you submit to unlock a full report, so we can deliver results and keep you updated.
- Parcel geometries you draw or select — the map coordinates that define the area you want analysed.
- Basic usage and diagnostic data (such as which reports you run) to keep the app reliable.
How we use it
We use your information to generate and deliver land-risk reports, save your analyses to your account, send report results and change alerts you request, respond to support requests, and improve the accuracy and reliability of the service. We do not sell your personal information.
Data storage & security
Your account data, saved analyses, and parcel geometries are stored using Supabase, which manages our database and authentication. Connections are encrypted in transit, and access is restricted to your authenticated account. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
Third-party data sources
LandBenchmark combines several public and commercial geospatial data sources to produce reports. When you view a report or map, requests may be made to these providers:
- Esri — satellite and aerial base imagery.
- OpenStreetMap and Nominatim — map data and place/address lookups.
- Copernicus / Sentinel (European Space Agency) — satellite imagery and derived signals.
- NASA — satellite and Earth-observation datasets.
These providers have their own terms and privacy practices. We only send them the minimum needed (such as coordinates) to retrieve imagery and map data.
Cookies & session
We use essential cookies and local session storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. These are required for the app to function and are not used for third-party advertising.
Your rights
You can request access to the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to delete your account and associated data. To make a request, contact us at the email below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
